Niamh Nightglow
Upbringing:
Niamh Nightglow (pronounced Neev, like Eve but with an N):Niamh's parents wanted to be adventurers, so they left the tribe banished and adventured around the world for many years, visiting even places as far as Doma and fighting for lord Kien, to serving as warriors in the dragonsong war. Eventually they had a daughter Niamh, and retired to their cottage/treehouse home in the twelves wood, with a decent amount of money and connections to educate Niamh. And there were many books in the study for Niamh to read, everything from tomes on forbidden magics to naughty and saucy stories her father had thought he'd hidden away, and Niamh developed many kinks. And though they lived in a secluded place, deep in the wood, old adventuring pals and occasionally even lesser nobles would come to visit Niamh's parents, so she was well socialized. Eventually Niamh started hearing rumors of the WOL resolving many issues that even her parents had failed to put an end to, and so, when she came of age, 21, she went off to go on her own journey.Niamh eventually found her calling at a prestigious bathhouse, where she works as a courtesan. Her role there is multifaceted; she offers companionship and solace to weary travelers, engages in private sessions with patrons, and provides a listening ear to those in need. Despite the nature of her work, Niamh carries herself with dignity and grace, earning the respect and admiration of her peers and clients alike.Her journey is marked by resilience and compassion. Niamh has faced numerous challenges, both physical and emotional, yet she remains steadfast in her pursuit of self-discovery and personal growth. Her adventures have taken her across Eorzea, forging alliances, battling formidable foes, and uncovering ancient mysteries.Niamh even developed a spell to temporarily recreate the effects of an echo flashback and used this magic to investigate the WOL's journey, though the trail seemed to grow cold at the crystal tower for a time, leading into the rift. She theorized about using the powers of Umbral darkness to force open a rift gate in a sort of "reverse summoning" based on research notes her father had shared with her on travel between the shards but it is risky and not to be attempted lightly, lest one be lost in the rift. So Niamh began honing other skills, moonlighting as a courtesan, a craftsman, a gatherer, and more until finally she felt confident to brave the journey through the rift making many discoveries. However that's a story for another time.
Niamh today:
Niamh is now 23 years old and resides in the mist housing of Limsa Lominsa, and is currently employed by a number of guilds and free companies venues such as the Dragon's Stream and Kassatsu, as well as a venue that she recently opened, "Niamh's Cuddle Nooks and Books"After her adventures through a gate at the crystal tower, she continued her research journeying to Old Sharlayan in search of her next lead, exploring new lands, and continuing to follow the WOL's journey.
